It is with great sadness that we have had to postpone the first part of the Unearth Repeat launch tour from May 2020 to May 2021. Thanks to all the venues who have rescheduled dates so quickly. 

It goes without saying that this is going to be a hugely challenging time for everyone. If you feel able, it would be an enormous help to me (and my wonderful label, Hudson Records!) if you ordered the new album direct from my website - www.samsweeneymusic.com - to help me recoup some of the money already spent on the tour, and to help make up the huge loss of income for me and my band. 

There is also a donation button on my website, should you feel so moved, but I’d much rather you bought the album and came to a rescheduled gig! If I manage to make back the money lost on the tour, I will be splitting the money between the band to make up for their lost earnings. 

If you have tickets for a gig, you will be contacted by the venue shortly! 

It’s very strange having put so much love and effort into something and then not getting to do the best bit - playing it live for you all. But I will be back on the road and I cannot wait to make this music come to life with an audience. In the meantime, enjoy the album and see you later in the year! Hi all,

Following a number of conversations with people on social media and in person, I've added a 'Streaming Tip Jar' to my website. 

I've done it, not because I'm expecting people to give me money (really!), but to highlight the fact that streaming music does not support artists. 

Artists are being forced to give up music and find other work, in no small part because CD sales are down and streaming is the most popular way to listen to music. 

There is nothing inherently wrong with streaming... I do it, most people do it. It's convenient and the future - I don't doubt that. It's the system that is grossly unfair. Selling one album at a gig / in a shop / online will normally generate between £4 and £10 for an artist, depending on their situation with labels / distribution. In order to make that amount of money from streaming, an album would need literally thousands of plays. 

People will only realise that the system is broken when their favourite artists have been forced to find a new job because they can't afford to live. It is already happening. 

So, I'm not asking you to donate anything. The 'Streaming Tip Jar' is there to raise awareness that streaming is killing the music industry and needs to be talked about.
